Blue Ridge Orchestra

The Blue Ridge Orchestra is a 65-piece orchestra made up of
amateur, semi-professional and professional musicians from the greater
Asheville area. The group gives several concerts a year, three of which
are held in the Diana Wortham Theater. The orchestra gives a free
Holiday concert at the Folk Arts Center, and a series of concerts for
local area school children featuring the musical adaptation, "Peter and
the Wolf". The group plays works from a variety of styles, from
classical to Celtic and Bluegrass. The BRO is in its 10th season, and
is conducted by Ron Clearfield.
