Corpus Theatre Collective formed in late
2007, when veteran director James Ostholthoff (formerly of the DePaul
University Theatre School) and playwright John Crutchfield discovered
they shared a similar vision about theatre and the importance of
producing new and challenging work. The company, which includes
actor/designer Anne-Marie Welty, is based on the idea that the essence
of live theatre is the dynamic interaction of performer, audience, and
theatrical space. The company operates on a flexible and collaborative
project-to-project basis, and is especially interested in creating new,
multidisciplinary work, as well as in presenting classic works in a new
way.
