Pan Harmonia, a project of Keowee Chamber Music
Genre: Music (classical, world), Festivals
Pan Harmonia is an independent, artist-directed collective
based in Asheville. Our work transcends the boundaries of traditional chamber
music through eclectic, unpretentious and genre-smashing performances with world-class
players. Pan Harmonia embraces diverse world music from Baroque times
to the 21st century, often mixing genres, styles and flavors in a single
performance. We offer a mosaic of year-round programs for all ages including
concerts, educational residencies, community outreach and an annual spring
festival. We love playing music in unusual settings - from historic venues to
rustic mountain chapels. Ensembles differ with each project. We actively seek fresh
collaborations with other artists including painters, dancers, poets and
storytellers and enjoy partnering with a wide array of community organizations. Our private performances range from family celebrations to
meaningful meditations and corporate events. Though we are serious about our
music, its beauty and transcendental power, we try not to take ourselves too
seriously.
Pan Harmonia, a project of Keowee Chamber Music, has been
nationally acclaimed for its unique work and superb artistry. Our 2011 festival
takes place May 9 – June 19.
