The Asheville Area Arts Council has a long history as one of the oldest arts councils in the country. In addition to featuring local artists' work in an exhibition space which totals more than 2,000 square feet of downtown space, our gallery and basement space host performing arts events of all sorts, such as poetry readings, musical performances and theatre productions.
